Local AARP Foundation volunteers provide free tax preparation services to the Laurel/Hattiesburg community during tax season (February through mid-April). In addition to tax preparers, we also need volunteers throughout the year to assist with website maintenance (Tax-Aide Mississippi), configure Chromebooks and routers for secure operation, and to follow-up on voicemail requests for taxpayer appointments. Some of these activities can be performed virtually.
Training is available for all positions.
