Zombieburg

The Hub Hattiesburg is hosting an event called ZOMBIEBURG in October 2022. This event is an interactive laser tag experience in which Event-goers will walk a trail at Thomley Christmas Tree Farm while using laser tag blasters to stop “Zombies”! 10 % of proceeds will go to The Arc Southeast Mississippi. We are working hard to make this a successful event!
We are offering Volunteer Zombie slots to people 14 years and older. A Volunteer Zombie would be dressed up in Zombie attire (essentially everyday clothing with long pants and closed-toe shoes for safety) and dawn Zombie make-up along with specialized laser tag head sensors while lurking in spots along the trail to spook Event-goers. Event-goers will be led along the trail by two trained guides to also increase the safety of all involved. No physical contact between Volunteer Zombies and Event-goers will be permitted. We already have over 50 Volunteer Zombies committed, but need more Volunteer Zombies to maximize the spookiness each night!
We will have a total of 19 nights, and we ask that our Volunteer Zombies commit to at least two nights. They are welcome to register for more, but we know life is busy in Hattiesburg in October! We are willing to make exceptions to the two-night commitment as needed. The shifts will begin at 5pm to get decked out in make-up, costumes, and head sensors. Shifts will end around 10pm on Thursdays and Sundays and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays after the last group goes through. We will work in breaks throughout the night.
We expect this to be an extremely exciting and memorable event with financial benefit to The Arc! I am available to answer any and all follow-up questions you may have in order to get the word out!
We are having a dress rehearsal/on-site training on September 25th with two time slots. If someone has not come to previous trainings, we will make sure they get the necessary training on the 25th! If someone cannot make the dress rehearsal on September 25th, our motto has become, “We’re going to make this happen!”, so they can contact us about how to get them onboarded!
