Description

Spring into Action.

This spring, turn your compassion into action when you volunteer with the American Red Cross. Communities across the country count on the Red Cross every day. The need remains critical and constant during the summer months. From helping people effected by disasters, like home fires and floods, to supporting the collection of lifesaving blood, you can make a difference. Ninety percent of our workforce are volunteers who are inspired to give back. Discover the volunteer role that’s right for you. We can’t do it without you. Join us today and discover one of the best ways to spend your summer.

You can help comfort and support people who are forced from their homes due to fires, storms and other emergencies, so they don’t have to face tough times alone. The Disaster Action Team (DAT) Auxiliary Team Member is an introductory opportunity to support the local Disaster Action Team with basic tasks during in-person response. Disaster Action Teams provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. Once expedited training requirements are met, a Disaster Action Team (DAT) Auxiliary Team Member can accompany a trained Disaster Action Team Member on the scene to provide comfort and recovery services to those impacted.

Be a meaningful part of a larger mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering.

Training is free, but the hope you provide is priceless. Make a difference by turning tragedy into hope.
