Read Across America Day

“Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”, the name of one of Dr. Suess’s books is the theme for this year’s celebration in the District as participants ages pre-K through 3rd grade will travel through a “maze” with three stops along the way.  At each stop – the African American Military History Museum, Historic Eureka School and Smith Drug Co. children will experience the fun of reading, participate in games and join in with arts and crafts projects – making this an interactive learning opportunity. The volunteer's duties will consist of reading stories, assisting with arts and crafts, directing traffic flow, and counting guests. Volunteer assistance is needed for Read Across America Day.  This event will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Sixth Street Museum District. Please sign up by Friday, February 21, 2025 if you are interested.
