Free Community Literacy Event held outside of Target Hattiesburg. This is an annual event that is open to the community and promotes literacy by offering a story time, hands-on activities, free book per child while supplies last, and more! It's our way of celebrating Read Across America week. This year's theme is "Go, Dog. Go!" featuring appearances by Bluey, Bullseye the Target dog, and Moo Moo Chicken Pants the therapy dog. Fun for the whole family! Lamar County Schools need volunteers to help decorate, setup/take down event, man stations such as sensory bins, photo stations, giving out snacks and replenishing supplies, interacting with children, etc. The event is from 3-6pm, but feel free to sign up for anytime to help setup, decorate, and prepare for the event.
