Opportunities From: The University of Southern Mississippi

Visit with residents in the memory care unit at Bellevue Assisted Living to help them as they work on interactive, textile activities that keep their minds engaged - activities including folding towels, coloring books, or sorting buttons, sitting with them, talking with them, listening to them, taking a walk with them, engaging them in any way that might encourage them. Volunteers are needed for one hour at a time at any time during visiting hours. Volunteers who can come regularly are requested. 

This is not a hard job, but it is one that calls for time, love and patience. That said, it is the most rewarding job you will ever have!

Bellevue Assisted Living has Beauty Day for their female residents every Tuesday.
Though it may seem mundane to most, this activity is one of the highlights of their week. Not only do they have their nails done, they have the opportunity to have one on one fellowship with friends! This is so important to their well being! Nail day is Tuesday from 9:30-12:00 noon.

With the holidays right around the corner, students are needed to help decorate for the coming months. Additionally, students can help plan and execute events for the Residents from OktoberFest to Christmas Day.

Bellevue Assisted Living is looking for volunteer office support. Duties include answering the phone, taking messages, answering the call light, and greeting front door guests. Very flexible schedule opportunities.
