Volunteer: iCan Bike Southern Miss 2026May 17th thru the 22nd, 2026iCan Bike Southern Miss will teach children & adults with disabilities how to ride conventional bicycles. Two Volunteer-Spotters are needed for each rider. The capacity for this program is 40 riders, up to 8 riders for every session. Each session is 75 minutes, and starts and ends at the same time everyday of the week. Volunteer Spotters will walk/run up to three miles every day helping their rider to learn, and must be over 16 years old at the time of the program, with a parent's approval.
Spotters are asked to attend the same orientation as parents & caregivers held Sunday, the 17th starting at 3:45pm to 5pm at the Payne Center on the USM Hattiesburg Campus. Spotters will walk/run up to three miles every day helping their rider to learn. Spotters should choose two to three of there prefered times to volunteer. You're welcome to volunteer for two sessions each day, but that would only be after the number needed to volunteer per rider would run short. We will also have opportunities for more than two per rider to swap in and out, we just ask you allow us to put your name on the wait list.
