Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc. (PRVO) was incorporated on August 27, 1965, as the community action agency to fight poverty in Southeast Mississippi. Since 1965, PRVO has provided a wide variety of services to low-income individuals in its service area. PRVO currently administers programs in twelve (12) counties, including Head Start/Early Head Start, Community Service Block Grant (CSBG), the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Emergency Food & Shelter Program, Senior Meals Program, Child & Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) and an affordable housing program. PRVO's Mission: To establish partnerships that assist eligible customers and businesses in Mississippi with comprehensive services to obtain independence and economic mobility.
